Set on a sweeping, unspoiled beach on Sri Lanka's southwest coast, this boutique hotel offers a sanctuary of serenity, a feeling of home and a view of infinity. The Villa consists of three air-conditioned double bedrooms with attached bathrooms, and verandas opening onto the sea. Two bedrooms and a TV corner are upstairs, along with a book and DVD library. The ground floor has one bedroom and a living/dining/bar area, with fridge, kettle and coffee machine. The villa is child-friendly with highchair, playpens, infant cots available and a security gate at the top of the stairs. All rooms are tastefully furnished in antique colonial pieces. Facilities
Though you want to be out of touch at Max Wadiya,you don't have be. WiFi, fax, printing facilities and a safe are available. For entertainment: TV, music systems, a library of books and DVDs, games, cricket bats and other outdoor sports equipment. Transport can be arranged for day trips to nearby towns, a river safari, tea plantation, surfing school, moonstone mines, and other activities. Laundry can be done on site.
Our team offers cooking lessons in Sri Lankan cuisine, and the health benefits of common foods and spices.
The Pool
A secluded 40x20-ft saltwater pool is set in a landscaped garden and coconut grove. The infinity pool on the ocean's edge has an attached baby pool, with water toys for toddlers and older.
A variety of building tools (buckets and spades) are on hand for reshaping the beach with sand art and architecture.
Massage Pavillion
Hour-long massages with aromatic herbal oils in a dedicated pavilion by the pool can be arranged on request. Yoga and meditation sessions are available for any level, for individuals or groups.
We offer complete Ayurvedic treatment programmes. Ayurveda is an ancient Indian holistic healing science combining physical, psychological and spiritual therapies. It aims to restore the body’s natural balance.
Our villa has been engaged in turtle conservation since 2009. Fishermen rescue eggs from the open beach where they are certain to be poached. The eggs are reburied in the Wadiya’s secure grounds for the next 45-60 days. Hatchlings are released into the sea in the evening when they are safe from birds of prey. In the last season, we midwifed 1,190 giant Green and Olive Ridley turtles, both highly endangered species.
Any guest fortunate to witness a hatching is welcome to participate in their release into the ocean. There can be few greater thrills of nature.

The Tangerine Suite - Ranges from $270 to $390 per night depending upon season. Both suites priced the same.
In a separate wing adjacent to the Villa, the Tangerine Suite occupies the complete ground floor with an all-glass front facing the sea. It opens onto a garden-level veranda on one side, and onto the inner courtyard on another. A mini pantry is equipped with a fridge, coffee machine and electric kettle.It has a TV/DVD and music system. Max Wadiya is well-stocked with linens and towels, a washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities. Phone, fax, printer and wireless internet connections are available.
