About the property
Villa 916 is a very large, early 19th century listed building in the hills south of Lucca that has been restored and modernised to an exceptionally high standard. The house enjoys privacy and seclusion as it is surrounded by 50 acres of private grounds, pine forests, olive groves and extensive gardens with views to the Apennines. The villa, designed by the famous Lucchese architect Nottolini, even has its own chapel seating 125 people. Inside the villa, spacious frescoed rooms of modest elegance provide space for relaxing and entertaining, and a Bechstein piano adds a special touch.Accommodation
The main villa has 12 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, 2 dining rooms, 4 living rooms, 1 kitchen and a party room in the basement. The principal bedrooms all have superior quality, six-foot-wide double beds, en suite bath or shower rooms, and are air-conditioned and double-glazed and mosquito screens on the windows. The farmhouse is independent of the main villa and has 4 double rooms, 1 triple room, 5,5 bathrooms, 1 dining room, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and a terrace with pizza oven.
Dining
A full-time chef and house staff take care of meals and breakfast by request in advance. In the summer, dine under the stars by the pool under the wisteria.
Activities
There is a floodlit Astroturf tennis court, a pool table, huge swimming pool, you can play table tennis, go jogging, bicycling. The beautiful walled city of Lucca with its excellent shopping and restaurants is barely ten minutes drive from the villa. Other notable attractions – Pistoia, Bagni di Lucca, Barga, the Garfagnana, San Gimignano, Siena, Vinci and the fashionable beach resort of Forte dei Marmi – are all within an hour’s drive.
Location
Vorno, south of Lucca. Situated 30 minutes drive from Pisa airport, 35 minutes from Forte dei Marmi on the coast, and 1 hour from the heart of Florence, the villa offers a unique combination of easy international access, country atmosphere and proximity to the historical and cultural delights of Tuscany.
Inclusion in the rental rate: all utilities, electricity, heating, housekeeper (3 hours a day), gardener, tennis court, swimming pool, WiFi, cleaning fee and local taxes. Meals by request in advance.
