About the property

At 20 minutes from Florence, a small cluster of private houses, enjoys a unique view that is lost forever in the Tuscan hills. Among them is Villa 9136, a splendid villa, with its private garden and swimming pool, which has been converted into a house, and which restoration and furnishings recall the charm of the past.
The geographical location of the village, at an altitude of 400 meters and located 10km/6miles from the town of Pontassieve, gives a very pleasant climate. It is warm during the winter but cool and breezy even in the hottest summers.

Although its original core of the twelfth century, has undergone expansions and improvements over the centuries. The central part, for example, began in the thirteenth century and enlarged in 500, in 700 it became the summer residence of the Bishop of Florence. In fact it was the bishop who decided to build the small chapel of the villa and to decorate most of the rooms.

Everything in this house offers peace and a slower pace of life. One has the feeling that here the time has stopped, due to the conjecture of the furniture, designed to offer perfection and to give comfort, cosines and satisfaction based upon the aesthetics. One of the bedrooms has a library with books in their original language with English literature, American, German and Russian, left by the current owner's grandfather, a prominent spokesman of the Italian culture of the first '900s.

The rooms on the ground floor, kitchen, lounge and dining room have several doors that open onto the outdoor terraced area on the panoramic side of the villa, which is covered with white gravel and is furnished for eating out. This area is shaded by large trees, like huge umbrellas to protect against the sun.

Included in the rental of the villa is a person who is available 6 hours per day, 6 days a week for taking care of the garden, the daily cleaning and the preparation of breakfast six days a week. His apartment has a separate entrance on a secondary side of the villa, so maximum privacy to the guests is fully respected.

The beautiful garden of 8.000 square meters and the swimming pool are part of the private area for exclusive use of villa guests. The only part in common with another house in the village is the parking area, located behind the villa. The parking area is situated on the opposite side of where the garden is.

Although the villa is part of a village and has another house adjacent to its walls, it can guarantee absolute privacy. From the garden you can only see the wall of an adjacent house, but there is total privacy.

The beautiful terraced gardens, stretch down towards the swimming pool area, with 8 sun beds and furnished in teak with coffee tables perfect for having an aperitif.

Walking down from this area, a pathway with fruit and olive trees, leads to a nicely fenced vegetable garden that can be used to have fun picking up fruit and vegetables.
In the evening, the lighting system of the garden creates a striking effect, with lights positioned under the olive trees, highlighting different forms in a magical way.
The surroundings of the villa, offer quiet streets on which to venture on foot or by bicycle.

Due to many steps at the property, the villa is not suitable for children, nor for elderly people. Please note that the use of the appliances in the villa and kitchen must be supervised by the staff.
Villa 9136 consists of 2 different villas under 1 roof, in the other villa there lives another person, but she offers full privacy to the guests and the garden/swimming pool remain private to the guests. Next to the villa there are 2 dogs outside in a fenced in area. At the swimming pool it is possible to hear cars passing on a distance.
