• If you love your coffee, there are so many great cafes and restaurants nearby where you can also take the kids for a bite to eat. Make sure you go to the beach cafes at Echo Beach, where you can watch the surfers; also head to Sensorium, Bali Buda, The Avocado Factory, the famous Deus ex Machin, Mason for great steaks, Milk and Madu (this is family-friendly) and Penny Lane, to name a few.
• Canggu has some great shopping and local markets where you can buy clothes, homewares, souvenirs, surfwear, jewellery and souvenirs. Head to Love Anchor Markets on Jl Batu Bolong and Jl Batu Mejan; there’s a whole range of shopping options. For more shopping, go via Go Jek or taxi to Jl Pantai Berawa and Seminyak, the shopping heart of Bali.
